Is granite cheaper than quartz?
Can you put a hot pot directly on surfaces?
Answer: Since quartz is made of resin, it cannot stand extreme heat very well. The use of a trivet is strongly recommended for quartz. In the case of granite, although it withstands the intense heat, we still recommend a trivet to protect the surface finish.
Can I use marble in the kitchen?
Answer: Marble is a very porous stone that scratches and stains easily. In some traditional-style decor, it is very much appreciated, and it will develop a patina over time, giving it an antique look. However, if you want a countertop that will not change in appearance with wear, we recommend a granite or quartz.
How long does it take between measurement and installation?
Answer: Between 10 and 15 working days.
During the measurement, should I be present?
Answer: Yes, the owner or site manager must be present. The sink, faucets, stove and other appliances should also be on site with their respective specifications. A fee will be charged if a second visit is necessary.
What are the steps following the quote?
Answer: Upon acceptance of the quote, a 50% deposit is required. Then, we will go for measurement and manufacturing will follow. The final payment will be required, upon completion of installation.
Can my granite or quartz countertop be damaged?
Answer: With normal use, your countertop will not scratch. But if, by any chance, you drop a heavy object, such as a pan, a hammer, etc. on the surface or on the rim, the impact could break the stone.
Can I cut food directly on the granite?
Answer: The normal use of knives will not leave marks on the counter. However, we advise to use a cutting board to protect your knives.
Are granites and marbles completely smooth and uniform?
Answer: Natural stones contain cracks that characterize them. However, the majority of our stones are treated with sealant and polishes that protect them.
How do I know if I need to seal my stone countertop?
Answer: One of the easiest ways is to pour a little water on your counter. If water seeps into the stone and does not bead, it is advisable to seal your countertop.
How often should I seal my stone countertop?
Answer: All natural stones are porous to varying degrees and the use you make of them will also come into account. They must be sealed at different intervals. Generally one to two years apart would be normal.
